New garden coming!

I am going to have a new garden. I'll talk to my dad about where to put it. I know what'll grow and what won't and my maw maw is sending me some seeds she also gave me some advice! and ill probably grow some flowers. I have one plant that seems to have survived the winter, by a little. i'll grow beans, tomatoes, some broccoli, and lettuce. I hope this year goes better that last year. last year it was a trial garden and it stunk.

Hey, Gavin,
I'm glad you're so interested in gardening. I'm sure this year will go better since you learned a lot last year. You may know that there is a garden at the White House. If you go to http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/The-Story-of-the-White-House-Garden/ you can watch a short video about the garden and how they set it up. Good luck!

Hi Gavin,
Glad you're giving the garden another chance. It takes time to learn about what will grow in your area and how to maintain a garden, so don't give up. I think planting flowers sounds neat. Some of them are pretty easy to grow if you remember to keep them watered & fertilized. Zinnias and Marigolds are nice and your mom might like having some to put in vases. Vincas are pretty hardy and will tolerate summer heat if you remember to water them. They come in lots of colors, too. Don't forget about herbs, too. You can grow parsley, rosemary and basil and those can be used in cooking. So good luck and send pictures after you get your crop going!
Love,
Grammy

I can't wait till spring when we will have some good stuff growing in our gardens. I'm excited to see that little seed pop up from the garden with just a spot of green and then to see it mature is spectacular. I will be ordering the seeds this week so they will be on their way soon.
