This is my money collection. I don't have anything really valuable but I still have some cool stuff. i have silver certificate dollars from 1957, a 1957 dime, a 1955 penny, a 1976 50 cent piece, a chineese coin (aincent and modern), a peso from chile, a tenth of a peso from mexico, and 2 1959 pennies. And still more!!!! I got the two dollars from the barber, he had them and he said that he would give them to me for 2 dollars, my dad paid (yay). they're only worth about a buck fiftty or two dollars on ebay but they're still cool. all the other stuff i found or bought.(click on pictures to enlarge)

I'll need to look around among my scrapbook stuff and see if I can find the Euros I have left from when we went to Italy. If find the bag of coins I brought back, I'll give you a Euro. They could be going the way of the dinosaur...haha...so they would be worth something some day. Maybe??
I used to carry a 20 centavo coin in my purse from when I went to Mexico when I was a teenager, but somehow lost it. Boo hoo.
Anyhow,have fun with your coin collection. It is an interesting hobby and lots of people are into coin collecting, so you should be able to find plenty of information about that.
P.S. I have a coin bracelet that has Italian Lira all the way around it. They don't use Lira any more in Italy so they are not good for buying anything, but they make a cool(but noisy) bracelet.
